Canada Link

Litherland High School has been travelling over to Canada now since 2006.  The link started with a High School called West Elgin Secondary School, Ontario.  Dance and Music students take part in this trip and perform in a concert at the High School.  For the past 3 years the link has moved to Sir Fredrick Banting High School, London, Ontario.

On our trip to Canada students get to experience a weekend as a tourist in the bustling city of Toronto, seeing the sights on the CN tour and shopping at the famous Eaton Centre.  During the weekend students also get to see the spectacular Niagara Falls, taking a ride on the ‘Maid of the Mist’ so they can get up close to the falls.

During the week students spend their time making new friends and experiencing high school life in Canada.  Students have the opportunity to attend lessons such as Physical Education, Music, English and Art.  Many lessons are taught in French.  The students were able to experience Science and History taught in French.  Students also went back in time to a traditional Fanshawe Pioneer Village, experiencing how Canadian villagers lived.
